cut faces tool

hi,
just another small maya puzzle - however I really feel stuck...

We select faces, then we press the tool options, then we select the plane we need - WHAT NOW? where's the confirmation button to insert an edge loop into the selected geo?

Imho, Cut does the cut and closes the option window, apply does the same, leaving the window open (for the next cut), close closes the window without cutting.
Hey, just try it out, undo works fine, if something didnt work for you
