Dem Earth Questionair

Dem Earth is looking good and I might release this plugin in the near future.

I have set up(revised) a poll/questionair on this plugin and the possiblity of setting up my own data server, which would have the sole purpose of making everything easier for the end user.I basically want to know if users will contribute to this massive task.If not , I can just skip it and move on to release.

if you are interested in this project. Please let me know your thoughts here...

This looks very promising Paul. Will you consider offering an upgrade / sidegrade from your Gigashader kit? I'm looking at your OSM plugin videos too as it appears to be more useful than my present solution using CityEngine.

yes, I am open to that idea.

I would also be open to getting a small army of trusted helpers together to gather and upload a shit load of data to a server, cos I can not fathom how I am possibly going to be able to upload mindboggling amounts of data to any server, with my IP.

I'm happy to help with that - email me instructions for what you want and I will let you know if I am able to assist.

It would be good to see something for those of us that bought Gigashader, I was wondering what happened to that on your site recently!?

The tool looks amazing!

Just to be clear. Is the server only useful for those outside of the US?

Lots of useful plugins in development. Any chance of offering plugin bundles of some kind?

Looks great Paul. Very impressive. Again, like most plugs, it would be a matter of finding use for it in my work to determine whether to buy--but it looks like it could pay for itself just to have in one's toolbox. Everyone gets a project where they need good landscape environments at one point or another.

Years ago I did lots of geographical illustration for textbooks and magazines. I remember wresting with DEMS and then having to texture them--what a PITA. This would have been great to have then.

I can see this plug being useful for VFX environment modeling as well as User interface design (I think of the holographic maps in the command center from the film Avatar) among other things.

Good luck--I hope this pans out.

Since I am in the US, I will gladly buy the plugin for my uses but I do not need a service set up to download it for me.

If there are instructions on how to download the data myself, I can certainly do that. I will also pledge to upload my data to a server (if requested) or help others get data they need for CG projects.

ok, that sounds like a plan.I will get server in place and pay for it.I will then get in touch with some of you on this. Anyone who wants to help getting this data in place will get to beta test and of course, the final plugin for free and access to the server. Lets make this happen

Man Paul,

I'm really impressed about your skills...

Not sure I know what I am talking about but is there a way to build up a library from what users upload? Or does all the data need to be uploaded at once? Interesting idea nonetheless...

I need maybe 4 or 5 more trusty helpers on this. please get in touch ASAP "info at tools4d dot com" and I will instruct on how to go ahead.
Please only apply if you purchased something from me this century and you have the patience of a saint(and his sister).this involves lots of downloading and lots of uploading and plenty of hair and teath (you will want to pull hair out and grind your teath lots)
You will need a decent internet connection, some HD space and to be nuts to want to do this to yourself
