Another Sketch & Toon Outline Question

Hi

I've got a line around the outside of my character's iris. I would like for this line to behave as if it's UV mapped. In other words, the thickness of the line, relative to the size of the iris, must remain constant no matter what the camera position is. At the moment, the line thickness remains constant relative to the camera. Hence, it becomes thicker, relative to the size of the iris, as the camera moves away. The result is that, when I've got a full body shot of the character, the line becomes so thick relative to the iris, that it kind of completely overrides the color of the iris and most of the white of the eye.

I've tried several different options in the thickness tab of the line material with no success. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

have you looked at the resolution independent settings in the render UI ?
also look at thickness to camera in the hair shader.

In the S&T tag, Render->Pixel Units : "World Space"
should be of help.

Thanx very much Lennart. This did the trick 100% as I had hoped. Just a small correction, if you don't mind, so someone else can benefit from your help as well: I found that setting in the material and not the tag.

You could also try using the Distance modifier in the sketch material thickness tab. You can use a custom value, base it on the object or based on the camera depth (target, rear blur, etc) settings. This way you can have parts of the object nearer to the camera with a thicker line and further away thinner.

This methods offers excellent control for depth based line thickness with S&T.

Thank you Tim - I tried the Distance modifier as one of the options earlier. I think it might be as result of a lack of knowledge on my side but I couldn't get it to work properly. However, more control is always nice to have, so I'll definitly look into it again at a later stage.
