Sign language performance capture

For the last six months I`ve worked on bringing animal characters to life with performance capture. According to the contractor, a Theater for deaf people, it`s the first time they see animal animations doing sign language.

I have a motion capture system from optitrac, some gaffatape and a go-pro camera. I made a facerig and tracked the data in syntheyes.
The end result was quite cool. I don`t understand what the animals are saying in sign language, but the deaf do!

All modelling done in zbrush and Maya. Mocap in Arena and motion builder. Rendered with furryball GPU render.
(I had to fill three HD screens with graphics, so I needed a fast renderer.)

Hope you like it!

Maybe one day, I'll actually understand how to do that
