Title: Storm Sentry

Software: Painter, Photoshop

This piece is called STORM SENTRY, kind of an advance outpost for a fortified city , the guard is watching over a huge checkpoint for all approaching ships to be proccessed before they can enter the city. It's the first time I'm using Painter with a tablet, I also used Photoshop to add some effects. I know I need alot of work on the background landscape and stucture, so feel free to drop in some tips on how I can improve on it. Comments on the piece in general is also very much appreciated.Thanks

Hi Kelvin!

Well done - the detail of the guard/gun is amazing and the design of the spaceship is nice! Its obvious that your focus lies on the guard/gun and the ship - you already mentioned the background and the structure on the right side...

Maybe just let the horizon fade away cloudy or spacy. I dont see the point of the buildings at this part. (ships approaching)
Moreover you choose warm colors where colors should be sallow.

apart from that its awsome...

This is F-ing good man, nice style it's like everything has a clear slime over it. I like the warm colors because no one does it, it's not what's expected, the space behind the big ship just need some detail but that's all i can think of. Very good

Whew!!

What an incredible design. The soldier is perfect.

In light of that, concerning the background, one word - clouds. The figure is so strong I'd get rid of the background and just put some clouds under and behind the figure/spaceship.

Post more!! You've got a great imagination.

Wow, nice design! A little details more on the building to the right beside the shop would be ok to direct the eyes to the ship...
