“Escape from Planet Earth” Sets Weinstein Co. Box Office Record

Quote:
"
In its fifth weekend at the American box office, the Weinstein Company’s Escape from Planet Earth grossed an estimated $2.3 million, which was good enough for a 10th place finish. Its grand total now stands at $52.2 million, nudging it ahead of Hoodwinked as the top-grossing Weinstein animated pic. Hoodwinked earned $51.4 million when it was released in 2005.

Thumbs up Wattsamatter With Weinstein?

Wikipedia says they made 17 revisions to script after starting production, and had to borrow against projected profits to pay for extra 3d animation production changes at Rainmaker. Sounds like, Weinstein owns Rainmaker and skrewed investors to make money for themselves, or they really are STOOPD. That they are not stupid is clear, so I am certain it is the latter. That they are building a 3D studio behind there backs while trying to appear as independant of it. Now I understand there is such a thing as the Society of Digital Artists? Do you have to pay 4 times your weekly salary to join and one time your monthly salary for yearly dues? Is the Leader or President thereof getting Paid? What a krock! That a guy could get hired without anyone reviewing his demo reel disc. That is whats the matter with Rainmaker, and Weinstein. Hoodwinked Too! Indeed.
