Yup, there renderer specific materials.

If you go download the beta of brazil, you'll see that it installs a material type of it's own. That's what will be in the brazil zip.... and so on.

btw, does anyone know if the materials from the brazil beta work in Brazil v1.0.

viewport manager???

Hi everybody,i dont' know if this has happened to anybody else but i couldn't open the Matlib 'cause i get a "viewportmanager.gup file missing" error .Does anyone know how to solve this?
The devil willfind work for iddle hands to do...

omg . . . VisualB . . . you saved the matlib from max 5 didn't ya ??

viewportmanager.gup is the viewport handler in max 5 and unfortunately it get's baked into every file saved with max5 . . .

It just occured to me, with all the files in the one zip, it could become cumbersome downloading the same file over and over? Well it's only a few kb anyway.. so i guess that dosnt really matter much at the moment.
If only my creations were real!?! o_O

scribble: Yeah, I thought about that a while ago. To answer your question... just replace the old one everytime, out with the old, in with the new.

The bigger problem is that after a while the file is going to get kinda big. Any ideas on organization that won't kick my butt?

actually a couple of the files that were sent to me must have come from max 5. I cant open them in 4.2 either.

That SUCKS... Is there a way around this? Anyone?

I tracked it down to one guys mat file. I'll try and get ahold of him to try and fix it.

[edit] Man this is weird OK so what it's doing is trying to open max 5 material types that don't exist in 4.x (ie. no toon shader). So that means more work for me. I guess I'll just split them into 2 categories. 4 and 5. All the max 5 users will be able to DL any of them tho.

VisualBoo, thanks for clearing that up with the veiwport manager error, i d/ld the library and got that error, but didn't want to bother anybody with it... i thought it was my system playing up
will hopefully send u some contributions quite soon

If you guys get errors, let me know. Even if it is just a small error... just send a quick email. That's the only way I can tell if there's something wrong.
