xilica: All in good time. I'm mid move right now, so it's hard for me to do anything but hopefully soon I'll get my system back up and make some previews for everybody.

btw... These are going to be full shaders, not just textures.

visualboo: these ppl seem eagar to presure you into posting previews without offering any assistance. You do as much as you can and be certain we are all very greatfull of all your hard work no mater the outcome.

I was one of the mat donaters. I don't want previews, just the mats. And I'd be glad to help.

As far as materials, can we send in abstract materials that mean nothing but look cool?

Yeah, that's the whole point Fire away

Just don't send in 50 of your best chrome/glass shaders. Things that are easily created with a couple of tweaks could be left out too.

Dude, this is totaly cool, thanks so much for gettting this started, I know I am late, but I will work on some mats. One question I tired to read the whole thread and I could nto find an answer but do the mats have to be just max on, like no bit maps or bump maps.

Glitchwolf: Well, basically this is going to get pretty big (I hope) and it's really going to be tough for me to organize all this. What I mean by that is making sure all these work properly, what plugs they need, should I zip them all individually with there needed files included. It's getting tought already So that's why I decided to go with the whole "as is" thing. I'm leaving it up to the end user to get these working properly. You know... some models will require displacement maps applied and so on.

To answer your question.... just send everything that's needed to make the material work minus plugins.
Oh and zip them with a name like Brazil_your name.zip. Whatever, it doesn't matter so long as I can make out which renderer it's for.

edit: Sfinktinator, sorry... did you send a material? Thanks btw.

LOL. I don't know how to create glass and chrome materials. How do you guy make sweet wood or glass materials? Do you guys play around with the material editor and master its options?

Also, thanks for the link VisualBoo. GREAT JOT!!!
