Question using python to preview image sequence in Fcheck

I have a PyQt4 standalone app I use to preview image sequence but when I execute the following in command line

launch = fcheck -n 1 16 1 E:/Dropbox/Research_Study/myprojects/Batch/test_project_nuke/test_render/testImg_###.jpeg

through subprocess.Popen(launch,shell=True,stdout=subproce ss.PIPE)

i get error saying
animation E:/Dropbox/Research_Study/myprojects/Batch/test_project_nuke/test_render/testImg_###.jpeg not found

even if the image sequence is there...

Try replace # with @
fcheck -n 1 16 1 "E:/Dropbox/Research_Study/myprojects/Batch/test_project_nuke/test_render/testImg_@@@.jpeg"
