p_shader_replacer

Hey, just a quick question ?, I'm working on Maya 2011 and seems that some of the "p_" nodes disappear from the hypershade is this happening to anyone else ? any way to load them back ?

can't find "p_shader_replacer" or "p_HairTK_mapping" i'm going crazy here

I opened the .mi file just to see under what category the shader was declared found it:
declare shader
geometry #:shortname "out"
"p_shader_replacer"
although in the hypershade if I look for it is not there.

Any ideas?

They are all there for me. I think you need a customized version of mentalrayCustomNodeClass.mel for the shaders to be correctly associated with the right category and to generate swatches where appropriate. In the puppet download there was a folder called mel_override that contained a version of this mel script, but it is a 2009 version. This might work in 2011, but I copied and pasted the puppet bits into the 2011 version just to be safe.

Thanks man I tried this as well replaced the mentalrayCustomNodeClass.mel but still not seeing it in the hypershade. they all seem to be there I opened the mi file and it is there is just not loading in maya.

I'm running out of Ideas.

would it be possible for anyone to create "p_shader_replacer" and "p_HairTK_mapping" in the hypershade export them and email them to me at johnpaulgiancarlo@brownbagfilms.com or johnfreefly@gmail.com?

Me too... I can't access Pavel's website too, I need the Maya 2009 version, googling doesn't help, can't seem to find any other place where I can download this other than Pavel's website. I need this, help!!!

Since Pavel's website is down at the moment here is a copy of shaders_p version 3.3 for Windows 64-bit (Source code included).

Shaders_p 3.3 for Maya 2011 64-bit on Mac OS X

I have compiled shaders_p 3.3 for Maya 2011 64-bit on Mac OS X. Included are a few sample Maya scene files demonstrating p_MegaTK, p_MegaTK_passes, p_z, p_CSG, and p_constant.

You can download a copy here.

You can read about the updated Mac OS X 64-bit version of shaders_p 3.3.
