mia_physical_sun + cloud shadows

I have an outdoor scene with a mia_physical_sky and mia_physical_sun and want to have some cloud shadows on the ground giving some "dark" areas on the ground as if the sky has some small fragmented shadows. Ideally I would put some cloud fluids up in the sky or a plane with a cloud transparency texture but with sun raytracing/shadow softness this might not be efficient and even crazy.

Is there an elegant way to use cloud gobos with mia_physical_sun with some convincing results?
How to do it? And is there any other way for doing this?
