How to include IBL sphere in Layered PSD render

I am trying to render a short animation (60 frames) as layered psds. If I render as tga, the IBL shows up fine, but I can't find any way to keep it when rendering to a layered PSD.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I think it is for the same reason that it won't show up in image formats that support and alpha channel. tga I believe has to be 32 bit to include the alpha. With alpha support as I understand it, it treats the BG as black which is then transparent. Fairly new to Maya so this is just an educated guess. An option in that case would be to simply is the tga to composite back the IBL sky texture into your layers. There might be more elegant solutions though.

Thanks for the reply . I actually ended up doing pretty much exactly what you said except I comped in a different backplate instead of the IBL texture.

Cool. That makes sense anyway. Because the usual workflow is not to use the IBL dome as a BG image anyway, but rather just a light source to which you can comp or another solution is to put an actual dome or cyc in and texture it but exclude it from rays and so on so it does not block the IBL. And that becomes your BG in the render.
