NURBS reflections in MR Blocky?

NURBS reflections in MR Blocky?

I have two smooth NURBS Surfaces. #1 has Fast SSS and #2 has a chrome-like mia_material_x

Both look very smooth in their primary render, but in reflections the #1 looks very faceted when reflected in #2.

Is there a setting somewhere within Maya or Mental Ray that establishes NURBS tessellation in reflections or does it stay constant?

You can apply an approximation to it but it's typically better by default than just default Maya Software. Are you rendering with the Rasterizer perhaps?
