Maya vray texture paths

There are many projects where texture files do not point to the project's sourceimages dir. (brought over from other projects, different machines etc.) but the files are actually present. When rendering with Vray, it is not searching in the default project sourceimages directory. Are there any solutions?

Best regards

set the project to the proper folder and reopen the scene. Or use a simple script that automatically sets the project from the opened scene folder. I made one that does that:

Thanks for the reply.

Project is set to the proper folder, just that complete paths given for textures in some scene files are not correct e.g. c:\dir1\file.tif whereas file.tif lies in c:\project1\sourceimages and c:\project1\sourceimages is specified in c:\project1. Vray by default does not seem to check c:\project1\sourceimages for the presence of file.tif and reports file not found.

Maybe try collecting the texture files and moving them to one common directory. This script can help with that
