reflection issue with MateralX and Nurbs

I have built and rigged a model using NURBS. Everything was going well until I began texture painting and applying materials.

When I apply 1 single materialX to the entire model, some of the NURBS objects display normal reflectivity, while the others appear to be metallic. I have not tweaked any of the mental ray settings on any of the individual NURBS objects.

I am using mental ray - production preset.

Any Ideas?

Check nurbs normals. Are they pointing outward or inward?

Thanks for the tip.

As it turns out, the normals on the more reflective surfaces are correct, while the normals on the less reflective surfaces are inconsistent and partially inverted.

Is there a way to correct NURBS normals without having to redo my rigging?
