a Constraint question

so i have a character holding a sword. the sword is constrained to the wrist effector.

when i try to rotate the sword over say 10 frames (as you would in Max with keyframes) it doesn't work.

it stays in the current position and doesn't alter over time.

is there a way to do this simple thing? does it have to do with the Parent/Child Constraint?

Parent the sword to a Null and then constrain the Null to the hand.

Oh cool! i'll try that. i wasn't aware a null was different than part of a control rig Re: parenting.

Parent Constraint takes control over models so you have to provide it with anything above your object which doesn`t have to me transformed and is used as some kind of socket.

So you can create anything: Null, Marker, Cube, Sphere, Light, whatever
