Photoshop "Blend RGB Colors Using Gamma:1.0" works in AE but not in PS

Attemping to comp specular and reflection passes over a diffuse pass.

Linear Dodge blend mode on those two layers gives me the correct result for the composite to look like the final render.

Unfortunately when changing the image in Photoshop from 32-bpc to 16-bpc the two layers seem to over expose.
I've found in After Effects the option, "Blend RGB Colors Using Gamma:1.0" and this fixed the comp, but in Photoshop it doesn't fix the layers blending.

So my composite test bunnies looks like the image in the left and I want them to look like the image on the right.
Here's the file I'm working on. If you set it to 16-bpc you see the change. Send it to After Effects and see it working...:

I know I can set a profile with Gamma set to 1.0, but then that will give me undesired results on say, linear black and white gradients for masks :/
