Combining 2D Flash animation and Live Action

I'm working on a 3-minute short and wanted to combine a character I've created and rigged in Flash CS5 with live action footage. I've storyboarded the whole thing, and my idea was to put a painted wooden hand on the object the character had to interact with and move that via a green pole. There isn't much camera movement, so I'm not worried about keying out the pole, my question is how to incorporate the live footage and the flash. I'm not aware of a function to incorporate video into Flash (then again, I've only ever done animation cycles in the program).

Anyone have any ideas?
