Sharper edges through ZDepth map in Photoshop?


Please take a look at this video

This tool is only available for postproduction software and not Photoshop.
But it seems like this should be possible to do in Photoshop as well.

Anyone has a clue how I could use a ZDepth map and make the main image sharper?

if you mean to create focus you can use the z-depth as a mask for the layer you want to apply focus blur to, then switch the mask off and apply a "camera lens blur", set it to use layer mask as source and then tweak it around

No, I meant rather sharpen up everything. What seems to be shown in the video is that the image gets sharper.

I use to use the Highpass filter and then overlay that layer to sharpen up things. O I thought that there might be some ways to use a ZDepth map to do similar sharpening on images.

Of course, I could always solve it using a compositing software, but before I go that far, maybe there is a solution directly in Photoshop...
