I found a new sight with some "lecture notes," its for a college class but the notes are pretty well written and may help some people, plust a gallery of the students' art

If anyone is interested in non realistic rendering, tending towards the toon side, then there is a nice tutorial thats just popped up on 3Dtotal.

Wireframes and 'smooth shifting'

Here is a link that has some tips on getting wireframes out of Maya. It also has a cool tip for 'smooth shifting' (method of moving all of your faces in or out proportionately to enlarge or reduce your geometry.).
