Arrow the particle mesher emPolygonizer4 is released!

Hey everybody,

I am happy to announce that emPolygonizer4, the particle mesher plugin, has finally been officially released!
It is compatible with the Windows 64 bit versions of Maya 2012, 2013 and 2014 (versions for Linux 64 bit and OSX 64 bit will be available in a month or two).

You will find a download link as well as some example animations here on the emPolygonizer4 web page. Alternatively you can download the plugin directly from here.

There also is some online documentation available, but the easiest way to see what emPolygonizer4 is all about and how its usage looks like is to simply watch the 15 minute long video tutorial below.

Much looking forward to see how this new plugin for Maya will be used!
Please don't hesitate to get back to me directly (eric[at] if you should have any questions. Since this is my first plugin for Maya there might be things missing in the documentation, possibly some bugs in the plugin itself, etc., so if something looks somewhat "funky" to you then let me know so that I can fix it.

Take care,

Please use the followings links to access my web site (they also have 'hick ups' but work most of the time)

Apologies for this. We are trying to figure out what might be the cause, hopefully thigns will return back to normal beginning of next week.

Hi Dario,

You can find the documentation here: emPolygonizer4 doc

I'll be damned, you are absolutely right:
nParticles is currently not supported. The reason is , ahem, a bit emarassing:
I simply forgot to implement the nParticles support ,)

It will be implemented right away and I will upload a new beta very soon.
Will post here again when it's uploaded.

Thanks for the feedback!!

PS: there are currently no plans to port emRPC. Perhaps later this year.

Hey there,

A new beta of emPolygonizer4 has been uploaded.
It now supports nParticles.

The new version can be downloaded here.

@Dario: thanks again for reporting this missing feature!

Hey Dario,

Please have a look at the chapters "Quick Setups" and "Nodes, Ports and Connections" in the online doc.

RealFlow particles:
Ahem, I am absolute unfamiliar with Maya, so I need to ask some possibly silly questions: Are RealFlow particles any different from "regular" particles in Maya? How exactly are the RealFlow particles brought into Maya?

Old 01 January 2014   #8
Technically i don't know at all. Anyway for what i know realflow particles are similar to maya particles, they are .bin .rpc .pxy cached file(native bin realflow i think) Anyway realflow is able to export as abc format and many other format. On maya we create a realflow particles emitter that have some realflow settings, this for default realflow particles. You can make, maybe, an abc or rpc file format read? abc for Hybrido fluid cache particles.
