Ramp Rendering Problem in Maya2014

Hi everyone,

I have a render problem with Maya2014.
When I using ramp node on my objects and render it, the color gradient isn't smooth at all.
To test it, I use Maya2011 and Maya2014 to compare.

1) Create a cube.

2) Make a ramp node and connect it to lambert color.

3) Use MentalRay with all default setting to render it in Maya2011 and Maya2014.

The resulut:

You can see the cube color gradient in Maya2011 is quite smooth.
However, rendering in Maya 2014 isn't.

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

Quality > Framebuffer > Data Type > RGBA 4x8 Bit

Thank you so much. It works.
However, I don't understand why 16 bit and 32 bit will make my color gradient unsmooth.
Are there any methods to make color gradient smooth in 16 bit or 32 bit pics like .exr?
