I'll have to join the praise choir here. It's no secret that I've been less than pleased with maya development in the past, but I must say that I really like where this is going. I'm really looking forward to trying out the new booleans, among other things.
Keep up the good work.

Nice features for a subscription update. Now we're talking.

-Xgen demo looks nice. Can it replace S&H or Yeti?
- Retopo toolbox looks complete now. great!
- Better Bullet dynamics is good news. AMD only?
- I hope that stability won't suffer

Add Bifröst and Open subdiv for the 2015 release and call it a winner.

I have a pretty thick skin when it comes to user feedback (I'm looking at everyone here who has said something bad about my Mom in your CER feedback ) but it's nice to get the occasional pat on the back, so thank you for that

This video was not there when I initially linked them.

Also not part of the extension but everyone should watch the "Behind the curtain of RD", features a whole bunch of possible future improvements to Maya, and also the OpenSubdiv videos if you haven't here.

That behind the curtain video... Was that videos of mental ray rendering interactively and progressively in the viewport?? One of the node editor videos looked like hypershade on steroids (the other was the bifrost demo). Could it be we are close to seeing a revamped mental ray rendering workflow in maya?? After nearly 10 freaking years could it be possible that mental ray might actually feel like a smoothly integrated native solution in maya?? Dare I dream??

Hey Tim,.. great work. I watched the new xGen implementation vids and they are amazing. I use 3dsMax, and Maya both, and it looks like you guys nailed MultiScatter for Max and Shave and a Haircut both for normal Maya workflow. ...

Really excited for this update. Xgen will be incredibly useful.

Also I want open subd in maya so bad it hurts. Seeing those nicely smoothed models run 60fps in that video makes me drool.

In the extension videos we saw that carve is the basis for the new booleans. It was mentioned that the code was improved. So, what exactly was improved?

Also, mudbox got a very nice automatic remeshing algorithm which creates nice edge loops. As we already got 'nex' in Maya, wouldn`t it make sense to include also that algorithm from mudbox?

If you mean the one at 3:00 that is ShaderFX.
It is a generic material editor in Maya, but for now it is focused on real-time materials.
And since we cannot talk about our future plans, that is all I can say

Also there seemed to be a voronoi fracturing feature being previewed on that vid.
And a highly sophisticated new skinning algorithm, which looked very very cool.

I hope those features can make it into Maya as soon as possible
