Autodesk Maya nHair & UV space

Hi there!

I would like to ask if somebody managed to apply any 2D texture onto nHair system, basing on UV space (Autodesk Maya 2013):

Applying texture works on plane:



But it does not work on box:




Any suggestions appreciated!

i'm having this exact same problem in maya 2014, i cant map a texture to the nhair color because it renders all messed up. Anyone is having this problem? any solutions, please?

It is a bug with the way hair gets uv tangents from meshes. If you put the hair on nurbs surfaces the surface mapping works better. Otherwise you could set color per follicle instead of using maps.

Hopefully we will get around to it but I can't say when. If you enter bugs on it, it can help raise the priority. Perhaps enter it in the small annoying things forum and get some votes on it.
