Autodesk Maya trouble! F key makes my scene disapear.

Hi there! So i'm a new user here on cgsociety so apologies for any guidelines i accidentally don't follow.

I using Autodesk Maya 2014 and for some reason, whenever I hit the F key, my whole scene disappears, including the grid and there is nothing i can do to get it back. this only happens when nothing is selected and i press the F key. The only way of fixing this is to exit and reload. The problem is I haven't been able to save anything in fear of it saving without my scene.

Please help, I would really appreciate some feedback on this issue.

old known bug.

this python script will help:

import maya.cmds as mc
mc.xform ('persp', matrix=( 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1,))
mc.setAttr ('persp.centerOfInterest', 1)

as always there's hundred of solutions.
you can also create a new perspective inside the 3d views menu./

Perhaps an old issue of the clipping plane being out of whack? Simply go to perspective Camera Attributes and adjust the far clipping plane. Do the same for near clipping plane if you zoom and start to see through the model.Voila.
