"ripple" artifact when transfer maps to create displacement

Hi, I got a high poly model of a golf ball, and I'm trying to create displacement map to use on a low poly sphere.

using the "transfer maps" tool, I got some artifact of the weird "ripple" circles.

is there any way I can get rid off it?(the small holes are from the source model, that is not the problem here)

I was trying to search this topic, people were saying the image format of 16-bit/32-bit makes difference but I could not find options to choose bit depth.
"use maya common settings" or use mental ray to generate map both give the "ripple", higher sample numbers doesn't remove the ripple.

any input would be helpful

When transferring maps, make sure you choose a format that supports a 32 bit depth, some of the formats listed don't have high enough bit depth to work well. I would guess those artifacts are from not having a large enough bit depth, so the accuracy on the displacement is low (and it puts them in rings like that). Also, are you rendering with MR or another renderer?

thanks VB2341
I was using MR to render.
that was TIFF format, but I could not find option to change bit depth.
there were simply a drop list of formats to choose in the tool, but I couldn't find where to get 32 bit images.
