My Rig is giving me some weird results

Hey guys. I'm a major newbie on Maya and i just joined the cg society. I created a rig for my Character and its not going so well. Like, for example, when i rotate his arm, part of his chest rotates along with it.

Again, as a newbie, I just don't know what to do. Is there a way to fix this?

well it would seem that you have not done much to paint the weights on the character. In most cases just skinning a mesh to a skeleton will not do the trick and you will have to paint the weights to get desirable deformations.

try Skin>EditSmoothSkin>paintSkinWeightsTool
googeling will bring you some useful videos on how to use the tool, you'll need some time, but automatic skinning almost always needs mayor refinement
