maya window lighting

I have created a scene with windows in and i want that effect in photos where it blows out the highlights of the windows so it looks like bright sun outside and you can't see anything but white. How could i achieve this effect?

Use Photoshop.

You put a really strong light outside the window, just like in the real world.
then you add some glow in post.
"No, the movement is good, it just has to travel faster from spot A to spot B in the same amount of time."

I would also do this in post by creating a bloom effect. Neil has a pretty good starter tut here_

You could also create an arealight and place it just a tiny bit inside the house at the window and then have it point outwards, so that it will hit the windowframe and look like glow.
This method is probably a bit deprecated though and from the days before GI, but it should still work fine
