Question How can I reduce the quads my NURBS create?

I'm very new to Maya - I started yesterday. I'm currently followed a tutorial from Digital Tutors.

At the moment I have three NURBS rings made, and am currently using the LOFT button to turn these into a tube. The problem is that my tube has lots of geometry, but the one in the tutorial has next to none. How can I lower my quads to match the tutorial?

Thank you for looking at my thread. This has had me stuck for quite a while.
