Delete Duplicate Shading Networks script that works?


Has anyone seen or heard or even better possible have a fix for "Delete Duplicate Shading Networks" script that will actually work if there is something like a file texture connected to the duplicate materials?

Sometimes on imports I get dozens of the exact same shading networks (same name, same network and everything) but despite the name "Shading Networks" in the command, I find that it will only work on shaders that have no incoming networks to it.

Just wondering if it is possible or if anyone has fixed this?

I've submitted it as a bug to Autodesk before in the past, tried that avenue before :(
