objects in renderview won't render in batch


I am not sure why this is happening or what to try to investigate the problem.

I have 6 creatures that share the same materials. In renderview everything renders fine, but only one of the creatures render in the batch.

What can I try?

Btw, I'm using maya 2011. And there are different material overrides going on for the shaders and shader groups. BUT if there was any issue with those, wouldn't it present themselves in the renderview?

It could be many things. I've fixed this in the past be reassigning the correct material in the masterlayer. If you're not actually rendering the masterlayer in your project just assign any materials and see if it helps.

The other possibility is that you're doing something tricksy to hide the objects at some point during the animation. eg scaling the objects to 0,0,0.
