Setting Driven Key on same transform

Hi all,
I'm new at setting up a rig, right now trying to rig a hand with Driven Keys

Right now I've set up a curl attribute for each finger, which works on the Z axis of each joint. Works great.

Now I've seen many people have other attributes like "fist", "pointfinger" etc...

However, to make a fist, I must also set keys on the Z axis of my fingers' joints, which conflicts with my "curl" attributes. It seems that the curl setting prevails, because if I set "fist" to 10 (closed fist) and my finger curls are at 0, the fingers don't move.

How do people usually do this stuff?

why not make a set driven key than drives your already made set driven keys?

"fist" drives your keys for the fingers.

Yeah I thought of this,
but eventually I found out what was going wrong. I had one of my keys set to 10 when setting another key, which was interfering.

Setting all my keys to 0 before setting a new one solved the issue
