CV Curve Extrude

Hey guys,

I have recently picked up Maya and been working through a series of Digital Tutor guides but have come across a problem which has slowed my progress.

I am attempting to make a pipe shape by using the CV Curve Tool and then pathing a NURB circle to it using the extrude feature. When doing this though I come across a problem.

Shown in the two images are what happens when I try and use the extrude feature which results in an unwanted shape/

Any help with this problem would be appreciated, thanks.

try some other options in the extrude options window, tube, at path, component and maybe profile normal.
