Copy topology

Hi,

I guess I need code for this, but I'll ask anyway.

1. I have three meshes P, Q, and T.
2. Q has the same topology as P, but has a different shape (some deformation of P).
3. T has the same shape as P, but has different topology (different number of vertices and faces), i.e. different topologies of the same surface.

I'd like to copy the topology from T to Q. Or put otherwise, I'd like to deform T, such points on the surface of T that have the same coordinates as vertices of P would go to a new position of corresponding vertices in Q, and the rest of the vertices of T would interpolate smoothly.

Maybe I could parametrize T and P by spatial position, parametrize Q the same as P (copy UV by vertex order), and then transfer vertex positions from Q to T.

"Closest point on mesh" should help you if I understand what you are trying to achieve.
You can also use a Shrink Warp approach (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=1025381)

It worked with the mesh transfer attributes.
Thanks
