Splitting Poly with Interactive Split Poly Tool

Hello, guys. I have a problem. I have house model it's only one piece. And I cant split my poly with Interactive split tool. When I try to split my poly it's giving an error and then maya is closing. Please Help with this. Thank You.

The Interactive Split -tool is known for being unreliable.
I almost never use that one because it's tendency to crash the program. Use the default one instead.

Can't I figure out this ? If I can't how I can reform my polys :(

On the marking menu (shift + right click) you have both "split polygon tool" and "interactive split polygon tool".

Try switching to a single perspective viewport to get the split pgon tool to work.

if you have a scene to reproduce the crash please send it autodesk and fill in a bug.
without a repro scene there is near to no chance to get the bug fixed.

Can I hijack this thread and add something. I find the split polygon tool better than the interactive polygon tool for adding geometry. It gets really frustrating when for some unknown reason (well unknown to me) quite often it won't add lines or loops at all.

I've heard that it is a bit buggy...is it really that buggy. Does it work a lot better in orthographic than in the perspective? I find that at times the split will add lines whereas the interactive won't and vice versa, if I want to manually create a loop across some faces.

It doesn't happen all the time, just some times. I know its hard to answer why without being there looking at my scene, but is there reasons for it refusing to subdivide a face.

This really slows my work flow down, and probably is the only thing that does.

I didn't create a thread for this as it seems to be quite relevant to the topic, but if there aren't any further replies I'll try posting it in its own thread. Its annoying me that much.
