Select all faces using a material on a specific object only?

Hi Guys,

I'd like to delete all faces with a specific material applied but only on one mesh. I want all the other meshes with this material applied to be left alone. Right now I'm lucky because most of the objects I am doing this with are separated in to the faces I want to delete and a few other shells. This allows me to select the shells I don't want to delete quickly then invert my selection but I know this won't always be the case and wonder if anyone knows of a way to do this more efficiently?

Thanks in advance,

1. select the mesh with faces to delete
2. hide unselected
3. hypershade select objects with material
4. isolate selected
5. deselect all
6. marquee select visible faces -> delete

There's a script called MatFaceFinder that has exactly this functionality I believe.
You make a selection on a mesh, and then MatFaceFinder will grow the selection to cover all faces that share that shader.
Nightshade UV Editor (script for Maya) - Extends Maya's default UV Texture Editor with additional tools.
