Whats even more annoying is that getApplicationVersionAsFloat returns 2013, not 2013.5 so a bunch of my scripts based on batch rendering and importing don't work with 2013.5 nice subscription "advantage"

Have to say that one screwed us up at my last place, we ended up doing a range over the api version number to catch it as 2013.5. That's one of those things that really should have been incremented seeing as it's a new version

Re the return version problem (for which there is no excuse), you can try

about -api;
// Result: 201350 //
