creating GUI in wxPython is way to easier

so I spent some time creating GUI in wxPython and finding its way to easier to build GUI in comparison to make GUI using the maya's command module..

I still have to give a try to PyQt , if anyone has experience with both please share opinion ...

I've only mess around a little. PyQt - worked with Maya without any extra effort from me. Whereas wxPython.... after wrestling with it for a while I kinda gave up. I was only a Python newbie at that time though.

You might want to look at this b4 investing a lot of time into a non-standard workflow.

Does Maya, Nuke, Fusion, Realflow or Houdini make use of Qt in the backend? can I use PyQt to develop GUI for above mentioned packages ?

Both Maya and Nuke use Qt (starting with Maya 2011 and Nuke 5). And yes, you can use PyQt (or PySide) to develop GUIs for both of them.

I've used Qt/PyQt extensively for the past couple of years and would highly recommend it. Although, I haven't used wxPython to make a direct comparison.
