Hi iam looking a script wich can do something like a Maxscript called Bookmanager.
you can find a demo video here:
It create randomly different Booktypes with Textures.
Now i need something like that for maya for my Projekt.
Maybe someone have do something like this and can share it or mybe someone know where i can get a script or Plugin wich can do this.

thanks in advance

That script/plugin doesn't actually create the book objects for you, you have to create all the books yourself as models and the script simply clones and arranges/aligns them above the selected faces.

Which feature is it you require? a script that actually generates random "book" models, or a script like that one that arranges models on a "shelf" face...?

or do you want both? Either way I doubt there's anything atm for Maya that does this.. it's a pretty obscure and specific tool-set...

Hi thanks for your fast reply
Waht i need is a Script wich creates different Book types with Textures and also positioned it over a selected Face or ares.

And the 3d Max script have a bunch of features like flipping and tilting the books and so on.

Do you mean python/mel wise or just no one has really publicly scripted this before? Pretty sure you mean the latter.

Ham: He means the latter.

This request unfortunately falls into the gategory "pay me and I'll do it for you" and the reason is just what Nathan said: this is _really_ specific toolset you're talking about.

My two cents.

- Oh no, it's me -
