Have a look at my thread.

I guess this would be an alternative to the "hose" primitive, with a little more control over rigid parts and material folding. I know the bellow in the photo is L-shaped, and although using custom spline shapes for that would be awesome, it's probably enough to just offer cylinder shapes with a custom number of radial segements as well as a rectangle shaped. Everything else can be booleaned out of that.

Also I'm still hoping for a good "1-click" solution for exporting 2D-coordinates of 4 selected point helpers to the clipboard, to be pasted into an AfterEffects layer as a corner pin effect.

And last but not least I don't understand why there isn't a non destructive chamfer/fillet modifier for splines... like this mockup:

Dave, this one is probably a bit less r&d heavy.

Copying and pasting/instancing modifiers in a way so they maintain their object space from the object they were copied from... You know, sometimes when you copy/paste instance a modifier it will do the same but in a different object space. Don't know if this is something that can be solved at all but if there's a way to do this with some scriptmagic it would be super useful.
