Create Shape from Selection & Lofts, Sweeps, etc.

Hey guys, I have an old one that's bugged me for years, finally getting around to mentioning it.

So has anyone noticed the issue where any spline that was created using the Editable Poly > Create Shape from Selection function doesn't work correctly in the Loft or Sweep modifiers?

It's a workflow I use pretty often so it's something I've seen a ton of times. My current workaround is to hand draw a new spline right over the old one in the Front or Left viewports.

I've tried using a Reset XForm on the spline, but that has no affect...Does anyone have a solution that doesn't involve redrawing the spline by hand? (That can be pain if its a really complex spline, or if the spline isn't aligned to 90).

Here's some screenshots showing the issue.

*I've noticed it in 2008, 2009 & 2012, which are the 3 versions I've used.

Check pivots, check scale, check vertex order, check source position on sweep. If they are different between the poly and hand spline, then that may be your indication of what needs to be changed.
