Updated HDR Light Studio 'Live Connection' for 3ds Max
Hi,
We just updated our 3ds Max plug-in to support more renderers: MentalRay, iRay, Octane, Thea, Maxwell and V-Ray. Enjoy! http://www.hdrlightstudio.com/workf...ns/3ds_max_live ![]() |

Thanks for the update Mark. Now you guys just need to work with Autodesk to find a way to get iray and mental ray supported in active shade with environment updates.

Yes it's a shame iRay doesn't update when the HDRI environment changes. In 3ds Max it seems to do a large pre-compute too, so even if it did, it would be far from interactive. I think the workflow we have is very useable though and means you can light a shot very fast.
I made a video on the iRay process with HDR Light Studio here: https://vimeo.com/70802429 MentalRay doesn't have an ActiveShade mode that I am aware of. |

That is the issue, lack of proper Autodesk support. I may help the users and your company get the features needed if you go to Autodesk and inform them that your users are looking for this feature.
Just a thought, -Eric __________________
