Anyone running GTX Titan with 3ds max?

How is the viewport performance?
Big difference with Iray?
Would you recommend over K5000?

This becomes more MAX specific than HW specific. Moving the thread in those forums for you.

It should be much faster than K5000 in iRay, all the Quadro's do poorly in iRay compared to the gaming cards. If there's any advantage to a Quadro it will be in the cases of many many objects or single objects with large polygon counts.

I have one. It's faster than my 580 w/3GB with iRay but it's being used as solely a GPU renderer so I can't speak to viewport performance. It's pretty nice.

I'd be happy to run a benchmark test if you have a scene to try.

If I use the K5000 for the viewport...can I use the GTX Titan as a GPU renderer?
Would that be compatible? Would be cheaper then getting the Maximus k20.

You can use both for the Renderer or have one dedicated for viewport and one for rendering. Mixing gaming and professional shouldn't be an issue. The big thing to monitor though is the heat on the gaming cards as they aren't designed and tested for GPU renderers. You won't be able to run the Titan and K5000 in a Maxmius configuration as the option is only available with Quadro+Tesla combinations.

You can use as many GPU's as you can fit into the computer for iRay rendering. The newer cards like the Titan or the GTX 780, 770 should be better in heat management.

Soon I am going to have a Titan, specifically for Quicksilver offline rendering, Nitrous online rendering (using powerpreview), and the 6gb will be used to work with heavy pointclouds using cloud2max.

Raymarcher,
I am very curious how it works for you (we created C2M)...
Please drop me an email or PM when you get it installed.
In principle it should should be exceptional.
