Unwrap Uvw changes when I hit render

Hey I have an unwrapped mesh which has several modifiers on it, the last one being the Unwrap UVW modifier. As soon as I hit render the uvw map resets and the mesh doesn't have the correct texture placement. I have to go back in the unwrap uv modifier and load the file, but i hit render and same problem repeats? Any suggestions.

This might be a bit obvious but if your object is selected and the unwrap mod if active then it won't be calculated in the stack.

Another thing to check for is if the UVUnwrap modifier is above a meshsmooth or turbosmooth with a different number or render iterations. That will break as the UVUnwrap modifier is based on the vertex order. So if that changes (which it will with a different number of iterations) then the work in the unwrap modifier is invalid.

So the unwrap should really be below the meshsmooth modifier (collapsed to the base mesh ideally, then the meshsmooth modifier applied).

The same is true of any modifier which alters vertex count or order. Unwrap should only be below that.
