displace modifier gizmo follow path

Hi I would like to link a displacement modifier gizmo to a helper that is set to follow a path.
How can i link the displacement gizmo to another object?

Thanks to a post in this discussion by PEN
I managed to do it with this script applied to transform script controller.

Code:

trackObj=$Dummy01
dependsOn trackObj
trackObj.transform * inverse $Plane01.objectTransform

the problem with this is that i cant key frame the rotation of the gizmo which i only realise now that i have to do. Any way to enable this?

There is also a spacewarp version of the displace modifier. You can use that one and link or even assign paths to it by using path constraint controller.
