Unhappy Can't right click HELP!!!

So i was working, as always, everything is fine, when i clicked the right click to bring up the quad menu it just won’t come up all of a sudden, it just happens in viewports, if i clicked on the toolbars or anywhere else it’ll work, once i want to isolate the object the right click menu won’t show up . went over the net they talked about transpirty in windows still didn’t work.
Your help is appreciated .

(3ds Max 2012)

I always end up having that problem. I never found the solution except using CTRL when I do it.

The only thing I know does this consistently is right clicking to cancel painting with vertex paint. It doesn't return control properly. Clicking on one of the move/rotate/scale buttons returns control and the right click menu becomes active once more.

I try to always cancel by clicking the paint icon again to avoid it.
