Convert submeshes into single mesh

Does anyone know an easy way to convert a mesh with several submeshes and textures into a single mesh with a single texture? I mean is there a plugin that can do this automatically?

Well, I think you would have to create a copy of all those objects and collapse them all in one mesh, create UVs for it and finaly do a projection from the multi objects to the collapsed one.

It's not an automatic process but it should work.

Thanks for the answer, but I really need an automatic process, because I have hunderds of these multi-submesh meshes.

Well, if you pass it through ZBrush UV Master, it should do the uvs in one click.

Hi,
what you want is called a texture atlas, so this might be a good starting point for a search.

This might do some of the things you asked for, though you might have to attach the meshes by hand afterwards.
