Talking 3ds Max running on bootcamp

I'm working on an iMac i5 with 16 gb Ram. I'm running 3ds max on bootcamp windows 7 professional (32bit). I keep getting out of memory errors at least 4 times in 1-2 hours and it's driving me crazy. I know it's crazy running it on a mac but I can't afford to go to pc yet. Is anyone using the same system and if so how did you increase the performance to get max to stop crashing???
