Unlit and Unshaded

I have a plane with a texture mapped to it, and I want it completely unaffected by any lighting or shading when rendered. I want every pixel in that texture to render the exact color and value as it is in the original texture (or close enough). Right now my plane is tilted forward and the face of it renders darker than it should be.

I've set Self-Illumination to 100 in the Material Editor for that material, but still the mesh gets shaded when I render it. What am I missing?

What renderer are you using? Do you have gamma correction turned on?

@darthviper107 I'm using Mental Ray. Gamma correction is on, set to 2.2.

Render out a diffuse pass with disabled lighting/shadow.
