Is there a way to link animations from a file?

Is there a way to link objects with their respective animation, into a different 3ds file? In this way, when the animation changes in the original library file, the changes are reflected in files that are linking to said objects.

There is an Xref Controller. This does exactly that. You can set the Transformation Controller of any Object to an Xref Controller. Once done it will open a file select menu, then an object select menu. The file and object you select will be used to drive the animation of the Xref Controller.
